We have implemented the welding process of two metal plates to each other. We did not use touch-sensing to weld the butt weld, only our vision system. The special features of this welding is that the robot did not know the object to be welded, did not have any drawings, and there was no programming process. However, the robot could determine the position and welded the butt weld in a quality manner.
